It's Time to Play the Music: The Muppet Theatre

I had these great custom Fisher Price Little People style Muppet Show characters created by Shock3DPrints on Etsy.  Having these, I definitely needed a place for them to perform.

In the Little People Village playset, there is a theater.  So, initially, the plan was to set up the village as part of the continuation of Sesame Street and use the little theater for these Muppet players.  This would have included little cardboard printouts of scenery from The Muppet Show to put behind them against the screen.

But, with the 50th Anniversary of The Muppet Show happening today, I chose instead to complete a project started years ago.  Everything was printed and mounted to cardboard but not completely cut out and definitely not built.  So, I did the natural thing:  I built the Muppet Theatre!

Images sampled from the TV show with scenery made from photographs and image searches, this came along pretty nicely.  And, again, for its tiny size it looks really full-size and atmospheric in photos.

First up, production photos.  Everything in bits and pieces before construction.

To show scale, it's tiny!

A view backstage.

And now, a tour of the theatre...

Getting ready to go to work.

Ready for showtime!!

DRUMROLL!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, It's The Muppet Show!

"This is what we call The Muppet Show!"

Hi-ho, and welcome again to the Muppet Show!

First up that fabulously fuzzy funnyman, Fozzie Bear!

The other day, I heard two crows cawing.
One crow says to the other, "How's your corn?"
The other crow says, "My toe still hurts!"
Wocka Wocka!

"No wonder you tell jokes about corn."
"You're a corny bear!"  DOH-HOHOHOOOO

At The Dance
"You're certainly light on your flippers, Kermie."
"You're definitely not light on my flippers, ouch!"

Banter banter banter.

"Cottleston Pie!"

The gang joins in.

We'll see you next time on The Muppet Show!
YAAAAYYYYYY!

Roll Credits.
